On May 12, the International Network on Small Hydro Power Coordinating Committee held 2009 annual meeting, on which the members summarized 2008 work and discussed the work plan for 2009-2010, as well as elected the new Coordinating Committee members. Mr. Hu Siyi, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Water Resources, the Honorary Chairman of the International Network on Small Hydro Power chaired this meeting. Mr. Pradeep Monga, the Representative from UNIDO delivered a speech. Mr. Tian Zhongxing, the Director of the Bureau of Rural Hydropower and Electrification Development of the Ministry of Water Resources was elected as the new Chairman of the Coordinating Committee.
INSHP Coordination Committee (CC) is an international entity, which is the decision maker for INSHP. It is responsible for the review and approval of schemes, financial arrangements and recruitment of INSHP, serves as the management and oversight body for INSHP.
Coordinating Committee is composed of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and members, whom elected by the annual meeting in each term of office for 3 years. At the Annual Meeting, Mr. Ferdinando, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Energy, Sri Lanka was elected as Vice-Chairman of the Coordinating Committee, Mr. Liu Heng, Director of International Center on Small Hydro Power was elected as Director-General of INSHP.
Mr. Tong Jiandong, the former director of the International Center on Small Hydro Power, was also awarded INSHP Outstanding Contribution Award on the meeting.
