In order to fully implement Xi Jinping Thought on ecological civilization and promote the green sustainable development of small hydropower plants with high quality, as well as to further practice the concept that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, the International Network on Small Hydropower recently held training courses on establishment of green small hydropower stations and green transformation of small hydropower in Hangzhou. Nearly 80 representatives from water administration departments, departments in charge of rural hydropower, local hydropower industry associations, hydropower stations and related design institutes and equipment manufacturers from 15 provinces and cities participated.

The training courses invited authoritative experts to interpret the green transformation and development of small hydropower plants in China in the new era, the policy and establishment of China's small hydropower plants, and the revision of the Evaluation Standards for Small Hydropower Plants. In addition to learning policy theories, the training class also invited relevant experts to carry out training in the practical operation of green small hydropower station demonstration, explaining the use of the declaration system, creating key points and other contents, and sharing case studies. Furthermore, experts were also invited to explain the green transformation of small hydropower stations, including the intelligent transformation of small hydropower stations, the technology and application of small hydropower units, the ecological discharge facilities and ecological flow monitoring of small hydropower stations, and share typical cases of green transformation of small hydropower stations.

The training courses greatly enhanced the students' understanding of the construction work of green small hydropower station demonstration, more accurately grasped the requirements, procedures and key points of the construction work, and actively promoted the construction work of green small hydropower station demonstration throughout the country.

Since the No. 1 Document of the CPC Central Committee proposed the "Development of green small hydropower" in early 2016, the International Network on Small Hydropower has actively coordinated with the Ministry of Water Resources to promote the creation of green small hydropower stations, served the creation of green small hydropower demonstration stations, participated in local ecological hydropower demonstration zones and green transformation of small hydropower stations, and contributed to the healthy and sustainable development of the small hydropower industry. In the future, the International Network on Small Hydropower will continue to carry out industry training and activities such as "Online Small Hydropower Public Live Lectures", and continue to give full play to the role of the International Network on Small Hydropower.
