individuals who are professionals in theory or practice of small
hydropower or otherwise interested in the topic. Our members currently
come from 66 countries, ranging from ministries and semi-governmental
organizations to internationally recognized energy companies and
utilities.
The common goal of the Membership Network is the
promotion of SHP development worldwide, with the aim of poverty
alleviation being of utmost importance.
What does the actual Network do? The member organizations,
companies, and individuals share their expertise, experiences, and
resources so that others can benefit from them and the project of
SHP promotion can move forwards. The network delegates the project
related tasks to the member(s) best placed to execute them.
IC-SHP operates as a coordinator of cooperation
among the network of contacts, and facilitates the communication
between the members in various parts of the world. Thus all the
members can learn from each other's experiences of success
and of failure, and be kept up to date about upcoming events.
